“If we show our children how to care for themselves without hurting others, they will learn everything they need to live.” This thought runs like a red thread through the non-violent communication with children and young people.
In everyday life there are conflicts again and again. There is a great temptation for all those involved to feel attacked, to attack themselves or to withdraw, to look for guilt in the other person. There is much talk in arguments, but as a rule little about what we ourselves and our counterpart really need at this moment.
The attitude behind NVC can be reduced to the simple denominator: to treat other people the way you would like to be treated. Marshall Rosenberg chooses the giraffe, the land animal with the largest heart, as a symbol of a language that is useful to life, and thus reflects a language from heart to heart.
The benefits of this workshop are:
- To recognize language patterns that are not helpful in dealing with each other and to find alternatives,
- Listen sensitively and understand what the other person needs,
- Recognize what I’m really about and sincerely seek contact,
- Say clearly and concretely what you want and learn to deal with it if mine says “no” to you.
Program:
- 18.00 – 18.30 = Welcoming participants
- 18.30 – 20.00 = Part I of the workshop (We have a habit of starting and finalizing our programs at the mentioned hours. Access is permitted after 18.30, but we will actually start the event at that time).
- 20.00-20.20 = Pause
- 20.20 – 21.30 = Part II of the workshop
Speakers:
Frank and Gundi Gashler are both of them Certified Trainer for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC.org), consultants, mediators and coaches, parents of two daughters. They live nearby Munchen, Germany, and both of them have romanian origins. The Giraffe Dream project developed by them is based on Nonviolent Communication (GfK) by Marshall Rosenberg. This is addressed to any pre-school institution and is used in hundreds of kindergartens in Germany and Europe, making nonviolent communication a integral part of the educational system.
Location:
Royal School of Transylvania is located on Henri Barbusse street, no.44-46, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Is at the ground floor at CBC (Cluj Business Center) and the entrance is only through the north side of the building (see the picture below for clues). More about Royal School and their educational offer can be found on https://www.royalschool.ro/.

This workshop will be exclusively in English language, but for Q&A part translation to/from romanian will be provided at request.

Access at the workshop is provided in exchange of a 100 RON / participant contribution. For couples the common contribution is 150 ron. Teachers and students can request the special offer in the registration form.
